Youth Action Team ⚡️
Our action team is all about youth-led social change. In this cohort, you’ll meet with a collective of teens monthly to work on issues your cohort cares about the most.
Duration
A year-long cohort with 2 meetings each month.
Location
Training and check-ins with Next Up will be held virtually, all voter registration will be done in your school’s classrooms. A cell phone or laptop will be needed to send emails, join meetings, and coordinate with teachers.
Compensation
$140/month stipend.
qualifications
Ages 13 - 18
You live, work, or go to school in Oregon
Passion for social justice, youth justice, and racial justice
Commitment to anti-racist, intersectional organizing
curriculum
Contribute to the creation, implementation, and facilitation of youth action team lead events and other campaigns.
Support organizing efforts around issues on the intersections of youth, racial, social, and economic justice both locally and occasionally statewide.
Learning and deepening of our understanding of anti-oppression and anti-racism.
As needed, civic engagement activities outside of meetings such as get out the vote efforts such as phone banking, text banking, and canvassing to encourage and give voting information to young people, voter registration, participatory budgeting, and endorsement committees.
