1. Make an impact in the short term. Summer Fellows spend field time on all aspects of grassroots organizing, making an immediate difference in Oregon’s political landscape. Year of Service Fellows commit to a year in the heart of the progressive movement working for the public interest – from campaigns, to legislative offices, to non-profit organizations serving the community. Here’s a bit of what past classes of Fellows have accomplished.
2. Develop leaders for the long term. At PolitiCorps, leadership development is a long term commitment. Our programs expose Fellows to a vast network of organizations and relationships to give them a running start at careers that serve the public interest. We continue to follow up, make connections, and support our alumni as they develop into leaders.
3. Incubate creative and innovative ideas. Fellows are the creative architects of their summer experience. We teach the tried and true methods of grassroots organizing, and as well as cutting edge tactics and strategies, but the Fellows determine the course of the summer. We believe that new ideas, different perspectives and creative solutions improve our work.
